Former Offaly hurler Kevin Martin was officially installed as the new Westmeath senior hurling manager following a Hurling Board meeting in Mullingar last night.

Martin was player-manager as Tullamore captured their first Offaly Senior Hurling Championship title since 1964 at O'Connor Park last month.

Raharney's Nick Weir, Seanie Loughlin from Clonkill and Castletowngeoghan's Noel Geraghty will be part of the management team for the coming year.

Meanwhile, Clonkill's Paddy Walsh has been named as the team co-ordinator.

Martin will meet with the Westmeath senior and Under-21 hurling panels this Saturday at the Hillmar Hotel in Kinnegad.
